Diving into the Cyclica project felt like strapping into a rollercoaster—exciting, a bit daunting, and totally worth it. Accompanied by the project lead Antonio and my colleague Marga, together as product designers, we set out to untangle the complex world of used construction machinery trading. The goal? To make buying and selling these behemoths as easy as scrolling through your favorite playlist.

🔎️ Deep Dive Research
First off, we put on our detective hats. Who were our users, and what made them tick (or click)? Through a mix of interviews, surveys, and some serious competitor snooping, we uncovered the gold nuggets of insights that would guide our design odyssey.

🌈️ Design Collaboration Fiesta
Here’s where the magic happened. Side by side with our dev buddies, we crafted interfaces that didn’t just talk the talk but walked the walk—in high heels, backwards, on a tightrope. Accessibility was our guiding star, aiming for that sweet WCAG AA rating.

🚜 The Inspection Saga
Crafting an inspection process that didn’t feel like rocket science was our Everest. We had to blend tech smarts with a pinch of wizardry to make inspecting heavy machinery through an app feel like a walk in the park.

🧠️ Iterative Prototyping Madness
With insights in our pocket, we jumped into prototyping. Think of it as sketching with a purpose. Each round got us closer to that “aha” moment, refining the mix of functionality and user-friendliness that would make the platform and app stand out.

Teamwork makes the dream work
The journey was a testament to the power of teamwork. Imagine a band where everyone’s in sync, hitting the high notes together—that was us. Our seamless collaboration and the always-open line with the client turned challenges into high-fives. It proved that when you get the right people in the room (virtual or otherwise), magic happens. The grand finale
Seeing the platform and app go live was our mic drop moment. The rave reviews from users and the thumbs-up from the client were like the cherry on top of our design sundae. It was the perfect finale to our design symphony, showing that with a bit of creativity, a dash of humor, and a lot of hard work, you can indeed make the construction machinery market a bit less intimidating and a lot more fun.
